Bibliography

Reviews:RA review, Times, 5 Jun 1872, p. 6, Jopling PC bk1, Daily Telegraph, 1872
Jopling 1925 Quote:
Other Quotations:'Near, raised a trifle higher, is a picture, no doubt a portrait, of a fair woman with "Golden Locks," painted by Miss L. Romer," who has even a better portrait in the first gallery of a lady, also with golden locks, a most expressive profile, "Maria, daughter of Charles Romer, Esq." It is obvious that both this lady's contributions now referred to were labours of love. The crisp, fresh colours are laid on with a light, youthful hand; the task was clearly new, the delight real, and the spectator feels the influence of the passionate earnestness displayed by the artist in her work of affection.'
